TAMPA, Fla. -- It remains to be seen if Vincent Jackson will play Sunday, and much of the decision could be left up to him.
On Thursday, the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver was limited in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice with a hamstring injury, an improvement from when he was absent from workouts Wednesday.
Coach Greg Schiano said Jackson will be monitored in the hours before the Bucs host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
"When you have a leg injury and you're a receiver, your legs are your life," Schiano said. "You've got to be able to run. We'll see when we give it a go, which I don't know when that will be. If it will be (Friday) or if it will be Saturday or if it will be Sunday, we'll give it a go. Vincent is a pro. He'll know if he can do it or not. So it will be up to him."
If Jackson is out Sunday, the Bucs will be missing their most dangerous pass-catching option. He leads Tampa Bay with 963 yards and five touchdowns on 61 receptions, far more than Tampa Bay's second-leading target, tight end Tim Wright. Wright has 383 yards and two touchdowns on 36 receptions.
In a loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 13, Jackson was held to three catches for 75 yards. He had a season-high 165 yards with one touchdown on 10 receptions in a victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11.
