MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders will miss Wednesday's game against Chicago with an illness.
With Sanders out, Samuel Dalembert will start in his place.
Bucks coach Jim Boylan said Sanders was suffering from the illness during yesterday's 117-90 win over Detroit and the team decided to keep him home Wednesday.
The NBA's leader in blocked shots, Sanders is averaging 8.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game and is a major factor in Milwaukee's improved interior defense.
Sanders played just 16 minutes due to foul trouble and the illness Tuesday, scoring three points, grabbing three rebounds and blocking a shot.
Dalembert, who had found his way back into the rotation under Boylan, played 21 minutes against the Pistons and had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
"Sam is a veteran guy and he has had a lot of success in the league so it's just a matter of shaking off the rust with him and getting back into playing shape," Boylan said. "Being able to move around, catch the ball, relax, that kind of stuff.
"It was good for him to get twenty minutes last night so hopefully that will pay a few dividends tonight. The rotation doesn't really change much, just insert Sam and take Larry out."
