MILWAUKEE -- The Bucks will continue to be without the services of veteran forward Mike Dunleavy Friday night against Charlotte, as his left knee isn't quite ready to go.
Dunleavy suffered a bone bruise last Friday in Minnesota when a Timberwolves player ran into the back of his left knee during the fourth quarter of Milwaukee's 95-85 loss.
The Bucks sixth-man tested the knee Friday morning during shootaround and again prior to the game, but was deemed not ready to play. Dunleavy missed last Saturday's victory over Boston, but returned Monday to play 20 minutes off the bench in New Orleans. Maybe rushing back too soon, he then wasn't able to play Wednesday in San Antonio.
"It just wasn't good enough," Skiles said of Dunleavy's knee. "He did a little bit this morning but I could tell he wasn't that optimistic. He just went out there right now and he's just not ready."
Also injured in last Friday's loss to Minnesota was backup point guard Beno Udrih. Spraining his right ankle in the fourth quarter, Udrih was initially believed to be out 1-2 weeks.
A week after the injury, Udrih doesn't appear ready to return in the near future. Still in a boot and walking with crutches, Udrih's ankle is still very swollen.
"I don't think it is going to be in a couple days or anything like that," Skiles said of Udrih's return. "Maybe sometime later next week, who knows? He's not close yet."
Skiles is sticking with the same starting lineup Friday against the Bobcats that he used in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs. Larry Sanders and Ekpe Udoh start up front, and are joined by Marquis Daniels, Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings.
