Browns sign DL John Hughes to extension
The Cleveland Browns have re-signed defensive lineman John Hughes according to the team on Friday.
Hughes was drafted by the Browns in the third round of the 2012 draft out of the University of Cincinnati.
He played in only five games in 2014 due to injuries, and totaled 7 tackles and 10 assisted tackles in those games.
For his career, Hughes has 84 combined tackles, 4 sacks and a fumble recovery.
Hughes was not a free agent, as his contract was through the 2015 season. The extension is reportedly for 4 additional years and $14.4 million dollars.
"It's an amazing feeling," Hughes said in the team release. "For the Cleveland Browns to have the faith in me and believe in me to sign me a year early, it's just a great feeling.
"Being Ohio-raised my entire life, being a Browns fan growing up and being able to live my dream out means everything," said Hughes.
