Browns Pro Bowl C Mack carted off after suffering leg injury
CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack was carted off the field after being injured in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mack had never missed a snap in his six-year career before what the team called a lower left leg injury, having played 5,263 consecutive snaps coming into the game.
Mack gave the crowd a thumbs up as the cart left the field.
He did not return to the game, and afterward head coach Mike Pettine told reporters the initial indication was a broken leg. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Mack could be out for the season with a broken ankle.
John Greco moved over from guard to center to replace Mack, and Paul McQuistan replaced Greco at right guard.
More on #Browns star center Alex Mack: He broke his ankle, I’m told. The fear is he’s out for the season.
