Browns lose return man Benjamin for the season
BEREA-- The Browns received very bad news in the loss to the Chiefs as they lost wide receiver/punt returner Travis Benjamin for the season with a torn ACL.
"You saw the growth as a receiver and obviously, on punt and kickoff returns," Rob Chudzinski said. "It's a tough loss for us."
Benjamin had 545 all-purpose yards in punt returns, kickoff returns, receiving and rushing.
Benjamin was injured on a punt return when his leg appeared to be twisted on the tackle.
He finished the season with 22 returns for 257 yards (11.7 avg.). He had a 79-yard return for a touchdown earlier this season against the Bills. Benjamin was used also in the kickoff return game and he had two returns for 60 yards against the Chiefs, including a 36-yard return. Benjamin had an 86-yard return against the Packers last week.
As a receiver, Benjamin had five receptions for 105 yards, including a long of 39 yards. He had one rush on the season for 45 yards.
