MILWAUKEE — After tossing an impressive five innings in his major league debut, then running out of gas in a tough sixth inning, big-time prospect and Brewers right-hander Tyler Thornburg was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday afternoon.

Thornburg received a no-decision in his only action after skipping Triple-A in a call-up from Double-A Huntsville. He was scheduled to pitch in the Southern League All-Star game before getting the call to the major leagues.

The top prospect found the positives in his first start.

"You try to keep the good things in mind," Thornburg said Tuesday. "That last inning, you try to wash out as much as possible."

After hearing the Brewers sent him to Nashville, Thornburg remained positive.

"I was very blessed to have the opportunity," Thornburg said. "I can go back to Triple-A and work on some things that I need to do here, not just in the minor leagues and get better for the next one."
