Brewers' Santana recalled from Triple-A, starting in CF
WASHINGTON -- Domingo Santana will start in center field for the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night against the Washington Nationals after being recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Santana, acquired from Houston in a trade-deadline move that sent outfielder Carlos Gomez and right-hander Mike Fiers to the Astros, hit .256 with two home runs in 14 major league games for Houston this year. He played mostly the corner outfield spots, but went to center once following a pinch-hit appearance.
Santana hit .333 with 18 homers and 77 RBIs in 95 Triple-A games this year with Colorado Springs and Fresno, the Astros' affiliate. He replaces right-hander Tyler Cravy, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday because of a right elbow problem.
