Brewers call up two pitchers, send down Knebel, Rogers
The Brewers on Friday bolstered the pitching staff by recalling right-handers Tyler Cravy and David Goforth from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
To make room for the pitchers, right-hander Corey Knebel and infielder/outfielder Jason Rogers were sent to the SkySox.
Cravy made one start for the Brewers earlier this season. In his major-league debut on June 2, he allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings at St. Louis, walking two and striking out six in a 1-0 Milwaukee loss. The 25-year-old was 7-5 with a 3.79 ERA n 14 starts for Colorado Springs this season.
Goforth, 26, also made his MLB debut earlier this season, pitching in four games. He didn't allow a run in 2 1/3 innings, surrendering one hit with one walk and one strikeout. With the SkySox, Goforth appeared in 25 games, all in relief. He was 0-3 with 2 saves and a 2.84 ERA.
Knebel has split his time between Milwaukee and Colorado Spring this season. He has appeared in 19 games with the Brewers, pitching 21 1/3 innings with a 2.95 ERA and 1.172 WHIP with 19 strikeouts.
Rogers has appeared in 51 games this season for the Brewers with 13 starts. He has a .236 batting average, .284 on-base percentage and .360 slugging percentage with two home runs in 95 plate appearances.
