
Braves Trade Escobar to Toronto for SS Gonzalez

The Braves have traded shortstop Yunel Escobar and pitcher Jo Jo Reyes to the Toronto Blue Jays for shortstop Alex Gonzalez and two minor leaguers.
Escobar was hitting only .238 for the Braves and had yet to hit a home run this season. He had 19 RBI in 261 at bats. It was a very disappointing first half considering how well Escobar hit in 2009 when he had 14 home runs and 76 RBI.
Gonzalez is a 33-year-old right-handed hitter that had 17 home runs and 50 RBI for the Blue Jays before the All-Star Break. He
