For the fifth consecutive season, Milwaukee Brewers leftfielder Ryan Braun is taking home a Silver Slugger Award.
Given to the best offensive player at each position and voted on by managers and coaches, Braun is joined by Pittsburgh center fielder Andrew McCutchen and Cincinnati right fielder Jay Bruce as the National League's outfielders.
Braun, 28, hit .319 with a NL-leading 41 home runs and 112 RBI in 2012. His five straight Silver Sluggers are the longest active streak by any player in either league and are the most ever by a Brewer. The announcement comes just one day after Braun was included as one of five finalists for NL Most Valuable Player.
