MILWAUKEE — Injured Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut underwent a CT scan on his fractured left ankle this week, and after evaluations by Bucks orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Gordon, as well as other foot and ankle specialists, it was determined that the ankle was healing appropriately and will not require surgery.

In a team-issued statement Friday, general manager John Hammond said the diagnosis would not change the original recovery timetable of 8-12 weeks.

"Bogut will be allowed to progress to the next stage of his rehabilitation program and will undergo an additional scan in approximately one month," Hammond said.

Bogut has been sidelined since Jan. 25, when he suffered the injury in Milwaukee's 105-99 victory at Houston. While attempting to block a shot in the first quarter, he landed awkwardly on the foot of Rockets guard Kyle Lowry. Surgery would have undoubtedly ended Bogut's season, but now there remains a chance he could rejoin the team before it plays its final regular-season games in late April.

In 12 games this season, Bogut averaged 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.0 blocked shots in 30.0 minutes per contest.
