Blues send Brad Hunt back to AHL Chicago Wolves

ST. LOUIS -- After an extremely brief stint in the NHL, defenseman Brad Hunt has been assigned back to the AHL Chicago Wolves by the St. Louis Blues. Hunt was a healthy scratch for the Blues' 6-2 loss to the Dallas Stars on Thursday after taking part in the morning skate.

Hunt had been recalled on Wednesday afternoon as a preventative measure in case captain Alex Pietrangelo wasn't able to suit up for Thursday's game. Pietrangelo suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's loss to the New York Rangers, but ultimately was able to play against Dallas.

Hunt's return to the AHL leaves the Blues with six defensemen on their active roster, though Robert Bortuzzo is eligible to return from injured reserve whenever he recovers from the lower-body injury that has sidelined him recently.
