Blues release 2012-13 regular season schedule

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues and the National Hockey League have released the 2012-13 regular season schedule.  

The Blues will open the regular season with a two-game road trip starting In Colorado on Thursday, Oct. 11 and ending in Nashville on Saturday, Oct. 13 before returning to St. Louis for a four-game home stand starting on Oct. 18 against the Detroit Red Wings at Scottrade Center.  The Blues will have a fan friendly schedule for the upcoming season that consists of 21 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

St. Louis will play six games (three home and three away) against each of its four Central Division rivals: Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings, and Nashville Predators. The Blues will also play four games (two home and two away) against each of the remaining Western Conference opponents, including the Western Conference and Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, who will make their first visit of the 2012-13 season to Scottrade Center on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

The Eastern Conference teams visiting the Blues in 2012-13 are highlighted by the Eastern Conference Champion New Jersey Devils on Friday, Mar. 1.  The Blues will also host Eastern Conference opponents such as the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, Winnipeg Jets, Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins.  The Blues will play a home-and-home set against the New York Islanders, Winnipeg Jets and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Other highlights on the 2012-13 schedule include:

St. Louis will have eight Thursday, five Friday, eight Saturday and eight Sunday home games.

The Blues will host two, four-game home stands (October 18-25, December 12-18) as well as one, five-game home stand (November 23-December 2).

St. Louis will play nine home games in the months of December and March, including the traditional December 26 game (Columbus).
