Blue Jackets place defenseman Dalton Prout on injured reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Dalton Prout on Injured Reserve retroactive to November 14, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen has announced. Prout has missed the last four games with a strained back.

Prout, 23, has tallied 0-1-1 and 12 penalty minutes in 13 appearances with Columbus this season. He has recorded 1-7-8, 37 PIM and a +10 plus/minus rating in 46 career NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets.


Originally selected by Columbus in the sixth round, 154th overall, of the 2010 NHL Draft, Prout has appeared in 102 games with the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, recording 5-17-22, 127 PIM and a +3 rating.

Prior to turning pro the 6-3, 222-pound blueliner spent five seasons (2006-11) in the Ontario Hockey League with Saginaw and Barrie, amassing 17-49-66, 436 PIM and a +16 rating in 286 games.
