Billikens will have to move forward without McBroom and Lancona
ST. LOUIS -- It appears Saint Louis University is well on its way to once again being one of the youngest teams in the country next season.
Sophomore forward Tanner Lancona and junior point guard Austin McBroom will both be leaving the Billikens program.

Lancona, a 6-foot-8 forward from California, averaged 9.2 minutes, 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in 43 career games with SLU. He made three starts in his two years.
In two seasons with the Billikens after transferring from Central Michigan, McBroom appeared in 66 games and made 15 starts. He averaged 6.7 points in 20.2 minutes of action his junior season, although his playing time dropped considerably once conference play started.
Asked during the season to clarify why McBroom, a viable scoring option on a team that struggled mightily on the offensive end, was spending so much time on the bench after playing significant minutes early on, coach Jim Crews had only this to say:
"Everything counts. Everything counts. Practices, film sessions, shooting drills, everything counts. I tell them that the first day they're here during recruiting. Everything counts. So no one has a license to play and no one has a sentence not to play. That's how we evaluate it."
With Lancona and McBroom out the door and senior forward Grandy Glaze -- who sat out the 2014-15 campaign due to shoulder surgery -- not coming back, SLU will feature a roster next season with only three upperclassmen -- senior Ash Yacoubou and juniors Reggie Agbeko and Mike Crawford.
