Bacon! Smithfield teaming with competitive eater for world record

There's no such thing as too much bacon.

On Sunday -- mere hours before the start of the 2015 Daytona 500 on FOX -- Aric Almirola's sponsor Smithfield will be teaming up with Major League Eating's Matt Stonie in an attempt to set the world record for the amount of bacon eaten within a five-minute timeframe.

While definitely a daunting task, things look promising. 

Stonie is a force to be reckoned with in the competitive eating world. He's the reigning champ for eating the most birthday cake, gyros, frozen yogurt and pumpkin pie. Plus, Almirola is no stranger to winning in Daytona ... having captured the checkered flag in July's Coke Zero 400. 

Can it be done? The world hungrily awaits.
