The No. 4 Arizona State softball team blanked No. 16 Stanford in a 5-0 win on Saturday night at Farrington Stadium in front of an eighth consecutive sellout crowd.

Elizabeth Caporuscio went 3 for 4 on the night with three RBIs and a home run, her 13th of the year. Senior pitcher Hillary Bach improved to 18-0 on the season with the win, allowing only one hit for the second time this year.

Cardinal pitcher Nyree White took the loss, falling to 5-6.

Stanford fell to 32-15 and 6-11 Pac-12, while ASU extended its winning streak to three games and improved 38-5 overall and 10-2 in the Pac-12.

ASU got on the board in the first, starting with a single from Caporuscio that knocked in Alix Johnson. Haley Steele then loaded the bases before Amber Freeman’s sacrifice fly brought home the second run of the inning to make it 2-0.

The Devils added to their lead in the second, as a sacrifice groundout from Katelyn Boyd plated Talor Haro. Johnson then scored her second run of the evening, coming around on another Caporuscio hit to make it 4-0.

Caporuscio notched her 13th homer of the year in the bottom of the fifth, launching one past the righ-center-field wall. Her 13 homers are second on the team this season behind Boyd’s 16.
