ASU baseball completes sweep of New Mexico

TEMPE - It took two days and numerous rain delays, but Arizona State completed the series sweep of the New Mexico Lobos with two wins on Sunday. ASU (3-0) took the first game 8-1 then completed the sweep with a 7-5 win in the second game. The Devils are 3-0 to start the 2011 campaign.
 
Kyle Ottoson, making his Sun Devil debut on the mound, pitched the final six innings of the first game, taking over for Jake Barrett. He gave up three hits and struck out eight to pick up the victory.

Riccio Torrez hit his third home run of the season, a drive down the right-field line that bounced around in the corner, allowing him to circle the bases for an inside-the-park homer.

Kramer Champlin made his ASU pitching debut in the second game and gave up four hits and two runs in six innings to pick up the victory. Joseph Lopez picked up the save.

Joey DeMichele contributed a pair of run-scoring hits.

ASU returns to action on Friday to open a four-game series against Delaware. All four games are scheduled to be webcast on foxsportsarizona.com.
