Arizona adds juco recruit Randall to stockpile at QB

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Rich Rodriguez is continuing to stockpile talented quarterbacks for the future at Arizona.
Late Friday night, junior college transfer Jerrard Randall committed to the Wildcats after a visit to Tucson, according to Scout.com.
Randall played last season at Northeast Mississippi Junior College. A 6-foot-1, 188-pound dual-threat athlete, he spent two years at LSU before going the junior college route for playing time. Out of Hollywood High in Florida, he was a four-star recruit who was ranked higher than both Oregon's Marcus Mariota and Texas A&M Johnny Manziel. Randall wanted to go to Oregon initially but didn't qualify academically and then signed at LSU.
Randall will have two years of eligibility remaining and reportedly will enroll at UA in January.
He'll have plenty of competition next season, joining senior-to-be Jesse Scroggin, another juco transfer who didn't play this year because he couldn't surpass starter B.J. Denker; Texas transfer Connor Brewer, who sat out because of transfer rules but ran the scout team; junior Javelle Allen, who was Denker's backup this season; and redshirt freshman Anu Soloman, a four-star recruit whom many project as the favorite for the job next year.
