Angels P/DH Shohei Ohtani named AL Rookie of the Month

Shohei Ohtani, the Angels' two-way rookie sensation, was named the American League Rookie of the Month for April, MLB announced on Wednesday.

Through 12 games as a hitter, Ohtani hit 4 HRs and added 12 RBI.

As a pitcher, Ohtani has struck out 26 batters in four starts (2-1 0verall). He's surrendered only nine walks and 14 hits.

The Angels continue their series with the Orioles tonight at 6:30p on FOX Sports West.
