RAJKOT, India (AP) Moeen Ali completed his fourth test century as England piled on the runs in the first cricket test against India on Thursday, reaching 450 for six at lunch on the second day.

Resuming on 99, Ali brought up his hundred off the third ball of the day with a single off Mohammed Ali, getting to the milestone off 195 deliveries.

He added 17 more runs before he was bowled by Mohammad Shami for 117 when he shouldered arms to a delivery that crashed into his off stump.

Ben Stokes continued England's scoring to remain unbeaten on 84 when lunch was taken. Chris Woakes was not out four after Jonathan Bairstow departed for 46 just before the session ended.

Bairstow struck five boundaries and two massive sixes in his 57-ball knock that ended when he top edged a simple catch to wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha off Shami, ending a 99-run partnership with Stokes.

England added 139 runs for the loss of two wickets in the session to move into a strong position but was helped by India's sloppy fielding, with Sahi dropping two catches off Stokes.
