CLEVELAND (AP)
-- Brett McClanahan's 3-pointer with 32 seconds left in the second overtime helped Akron stave off a stunning comeback by Miami (Ohio) for an 82-75 win Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference tournament.

The Zips (21-12) held the RedHawks (16-16) to a tourney-record 10 points in the first half and led by 20 with 17:32 remaining. However, Miami started making shots and clawed back to force OT on Jon Harris' 3-pointer with nine seconds left.

With Akron leading 77-75 in the second OT period, McClanahan dropped his 3 from the right side and Brett McKnight made two free throws to ice it with 15 seconds to go.

McClanahan finished with 20 points and McKnight 16 for the Zips, who will face No. 2 Western Michigan in Friday's semifinal.

Orlando Williams scored 16 and Julian Mavunga had 14, 18 rebounds and six assists while playing all 50 minutes for Miami.
