Texas A&M and Arkansas will resume playing the Southwest Classic football game at Cowboys Stadium starting in 2014.
The schools and the Cowboys announced an agreement to extend the series 11 more years, through the 2024 season, on Wednesday.
The agreement replaces the original 10-year contract that was to end in 2018. The schools will play on campus sites this season and next, a byproduct of Texas A&M joining Arkansas in the Southeastern Conference this fall.
"This is an exciting time for Cowboys Stadium and fans of college football," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said in a statement. "To be able to continue to host two of the most storied college football programs here in North Texas for years to come, and now in an SEC matchup no less, should thrill fans of both schools."
The Southwest Classic series between A&M and Arkansas started in 2009, the inaugural year of Cowboys Stadium.
Despite the temporary move of the series from Cowboys Stadium, Texas A&M will play a game in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this season. The Aggies play SMU in Dallas on Sept. 15.
SMU announced Wednesday that Ford Stadium's capacity will be increased by 3,500 for the Texas A&M game because of ticket demand.
