KOLKATA, India (AP) Afghanistan captain Asghar Stanikzai produced a knock of 62 to help set a 154-run target for Sri Lanka in their World Twenty20 Group 1 game on Thursday.

Stanikzai struck three fours and four sixes off 47 balls during his third Twenty20 international half-century and his personal best in 33 games.

Electing to bat, Afghanistan got off to a sedate start against a disciplined bowling attack and had only reached 47-3 in 10 overs before Stanikzai broke the shackles.

He increased the rate of scoring in the company of Samiullah Shenwari (31) as the pair added 61 off 5.3 overs with Shenwari striking three fours and two sixes in his 14-ball cameo.
