Rick Adelman is not expected to rejoin the Minnesota Timberwolves in San Antonio on Sunday or Dallas on Monday, according to Terry Porter, who has been acting as head coach in Adelman's absence. Adelman has been with his wife, Mary Kay, while she has been hospitalized, and he hasn't coached the team since Jan. 5.

With that announcement, the coach will not be with the team at least until it returns from its four-game road trip. The Timberwolves' next game after the trip will be Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Porter also said Saturday that guard J.J. Barea, who has been in Dallas getting treatment on his back, might be in San Antonio in time to play in Sunday night's game. If Barea were to return, that would give the Timberwolves 10 players Sunday, possibly 11 if Lazar Hayward has recovered from his illness.
