Acclamation, a 5-year-old from the barn of Donald Warren, won the $300,000 Eddie Read Stakes, a Grade 1 on the turf at Del Mar.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, Acclamation and Jeranimo ran 1-2 for the entire 1-1/8 miles, with Acclamation pulling away in the stretch to win by 3-1/4 lengths in 1 minute, 46.99 seconds.

''He looked awfully good out there, and we are very pleased,'' Warren said. ''I like to see him cruising on an easy lead, and I always like to see a horse slip away on the last turn like he did. Just done to perfection.''

The favorite, Caracortado, rallied from fourth but ended up third by a nose.

''There was no pace,'' Caracortado's rider Garrett Gomez said. ''That's what it was all about.''

Acclamation paid $8.40 on a win bet.

A son of Unusual Heat bred and partly owned by E.W. Johnston, Acclamation finished sixth in last year's Eddie Read before he won the Grade 2 Jim Murray Handicap in May and the Grade 1 Charles Whittingham Handicap in June, both at Hollywood Park.

Johnston said the horse is likely to make his next start on Aug. 28 in the Del Mar Handicap, whose winner gets an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Turf.

Earlier, in the $91,640 Osunitas Stakes, Irish-bred filly Andina beat Wild Mia by a head, covering 1-1/16 miles on turf in 1:42.07.

Ridden by Garrett Gomez for trainer Ben Cecil, Andina paid $8.40.
