Tan, Kostevych win 10m air pistol

Tan Zongliang of China won his first World Cup 10-meter air pistol title in six years on Wednesday.

Also, top-ranked Olena Kostevych of Ukraine won the women's event by more than two points, despite shooting below her best.

Tan, a Beijing Olympic silver medalist, qualified second for the men's final then hit the nine-ring four times and finished on top with an overall score of 684.6.

First-time finalist Ismail Keles of Turkey shot a final-best 102.3 to rise from fifth to the silver medal with 684.3, three-tenths of a point ahead of Vladimir Gontcharov of Russia.

Qualifying leader Norayr Bakhtamyan of Armenia was fourth, and Olympic champion Pang Wei of China was fifth.

Kostevych topped women's qualifying by three points. The 2004 Olympic champ totaled 493.1.

The same three women medaled as in the London World Cup last month, only in a different order.

Kostevych was second in London. Lenka Maruskova of the Czech Republic, third in London, was the silver medalist here with 491, and London winner Tien Chia Chen of Taiwan was third on 487.9.
