Imre Polyak, a 1964 Olympic gold medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling and a three-time world champion, died Monday. He was 78.
He died after a long illness, Hungary's Olympic committee said.
Polyak won silver medals in three straight Olympics (1952, 1956 1960) in the 137-pound class. His gold medal at the next Olympics in Tokyo was at 139 pounds.
He was world champion in 1955, 1958 and 1962 and won 12 individual and two team Hungarian championships.

After retiring from competition in 1965, Polyak worked as a wrestling coach at a Hungarian club.
Funeral details were not announced.
