
Olympic champ Maggi wins long jump gold in Brazil

Olympic champion Maurren Maggi won the long jump gold at the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Maggi jumped 21 feet, 11.38 inches to win the event, beating fellow Brazilian Keila Costa by 4 inches.
Emmanuel Callender of Trinidad and Tobago won the men's 100 race in 10.07 seconds, ahead of Jamaican Dexter Lee. Brazil's Rosangela Santos won the women's 100 in 11.21, beating Sheniqua Ferguson of Bahamas and American Lauryn Williams, the 2004 silver medalist.
Cuban Yarisley Silva, the Pan Am Games gold medalist, won the women's pole vault with a leap of 4.60 meters, beating Brazilian favorite Fabiana Murer by 10 centimeters.
American Nichole Denby won the women's 100 hurdles in 13.24.
