Cuba rallied to beat host Bulgaria for the bronze medal in the World League volleyball finals.
The Cubans earned their third World League bronze with a dramatic 25-18, 19-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12 victory Sunday that lasted 2 hours, 3 minutes.
On its way to the bronze, Cuba knocked out world champion Brazil 3-0, but then lost their next games with the United States and Poland in straight sets.
World No. 4 Poland was set to meet the U.S. in the final later Sunday. The U.S. is the defending Olympic gold medalists.
It's the first World League final appearance for Poland. The Americans are looking for a repeat of 2008 when they won the World League and Olympic titles.
