ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (AP) Title-chasing Eva-Maria Brem leads after the opening run of the giant slalom on Sunday while Mikaela Shiffrin of the U.S. crashed at the top of the course on the last day of the World Cup finals.
Brem needs to finish fourth to be assured of a first crystal globe.
Nearest rival Viktoria Rebensburg of Germany was 0.66 seconds slower than Brem.
The Austrian leads Taina Barioz by 0.06 with overall champion Lara Gut 0.20 off the pace.
Slalom specialist Shiffrin was fast at the start but spun out on a turn and slid down the course. The 21-year-old, who missed two months off the season following a training crash in Sweden, was not injured.
