The Olympic Committees of Australia and Russia have signed a cooperative agreement to boost the success rate of both countries at upcoming Olympic games.

The memorandum was signed Wednesday by Russian Deputy Prime Minister and president of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov and Australian Olympic Committee President John Coates.

Under the agreement, the countries will exchange medical and sports personnel and coaches, and compete in bilateral competitions.

Coates says he hopes Russia can help Australia improve its performance in such sports as wrestling, while Australia will help Russia improve in sports such as rowing.
