Wild's Coyle: 'We just have to claw our way out'
Minnesota Wild forward Charlie Coyle is welcoming the All-Star break with open arms despite scoring in three straight games.
You see, while Coyle is enjoying a hot stretch to extend his goal total to a career-high 13, the Wild are as cold as the weather in January. Although Minnesota (23-17-9) is just 3-7-3 overall and 0-3-2 at home this month, Coyle told reporters that the Wild can get their priorities in order during the break and get back in the thick of it in the Central Division.
"We have a good enough team to get through it and come over this. It's not ideal. We don't want to put ourselves in this situation, but this is what it's come down to again and we just have to claw our way out."
After recording a career-high 12 goals in 2013-14, Coyle set a new mark midway through the third period on Monday when he tallied in a 2-1 setback to the Arizona Coyotes. The 23-year-old Coyle's 13 goals trail only fellow forwards Zach Parise (17) and Thomas Vanek (14) for the team lead.

The 28th overall pick of the 2010 draft, Coyle also has 12 assists to move within 10 points of last season's career high.
