Penguins' Crosby remains confident despite point drought

Captain Sidney Crosby is doing his best to see the bigger picture despite being mired in a career-high six-game point streak dating back to last season.

Crosby, who has won two scoring titles, failed to record a shot in the first two games of the season and has eight total in five contests. The two-time Hart Trophy winner mustered just one in Pittsburgh's 2-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.

"It's more about the process," Crosby told Sportsnet. "You want to feel good about your game, and definitely the first two games I don't know if I did. But (since then) I feel like I'm generating a bit more and as a line I think we're getting a little bit more in sync.

"To be honest, as long as the process and the way you're playing is there, you trust the puck's going to go in." 

Crosby's five-game point drought this campaign matches the longest stretch for one season since 2009-10. The 28-year-old will look to end his skid when the Penguins continue a season-long five-game homestand against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
