Hometown discount a 'wait-and-see' matter for Lucic

Will Bruins fans welcome more years for Milan Lucic? The Bruins could offer the winger a contract extension in the upcoming season as Lucic enters the final year of a three-year, $18 million deal, but Lucic told Boston radio station WEEI that he was not sure if he would take a discount to stay with the Bruins.

"We’€™ll see what happens," Lucic told WEEI. "We’€™ll have to wait and see what happens."

Lucic was drafted by the Bruins in 2006, but he has not developed into an elite top-line scorer. Lucic totaled just 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) in 81 games this season, his lowest point total in a full season since 2008-09 when he registered 42 points as a second-year NHLer.
