Flyers GM to remain patient in signing Brayden Schenn

After signing two of his team's stars to long-term deals this week, Philadelphia Flyers general manager Ron Hextall admitted he isn't jumping the gun to lock up forward Brayden Schenn.

"I don't anticipate signing Brayden, which never means that you're not going to, but it's not something we'll actively pursue," Hextall told CSNPhilly. "We'll wait and see how the year goes and probably talk at some point during the year or next summer."

Schenn, who will become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, has played in all 82 regular-season games in consecutive years. The 23-year-old collected 18 goals to go along with career bests in assists (29) and points (47) in 2014-15.

The Flyers inked forward Sean Couturier to a six-year, $25.98 million contract on Tuesday before signing All-Star Jakub Voracek to an eight-year, $66 million extension two days later.
