Flyers' Brayden Schenn elevated to top line after being a healthy scratch

Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn traveled from one end of the spectrum to the other in rapid time.

After sitting out as a healthy scratch in his last game, Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn found himself elevated to the top line in Monday's practice.

"It's hard to figure out sometimes," Schenn told NJ.com of coach Dave Hakstol's recent decisions after he was paired with captain Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek on Monday. Schenn, who shares the team lead in goals (five) with Giroux, replaced Michael Raffl on the top line as he prepares to face his former team in the Pacific Division-leading Los Angeles Kings (11-6-0) on Tuesday.

Schenn found himself in a vastly different place after he was a healthy scratch for the first time in five years on Saturday in Philadelphia's 3-2 overtime victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. The 24-year-old Saskatchewan native recorded 18 goals to go along with his career-high 29 assists and 47 points last season.

As for Raffl, he was demoted to the fourth line for the struggling Flyers (6-8-3), who have won just two of their last 10 games (2-6-2). The 26-year-old Austrian takes the place of Ryan White, who is expected to miss two-to-four weeks with an upper-body injury.
