Fleury on Kessel: 'It'll be good to watch him to play on our side now'

Marc-Andre Fleury knows exactly what Phil Kessel can do to an opposing goaltender.

With that in mind, the Pittsburgh Penguins' netminder didn't exactly mince words when asked about what Kessel brings to the table on Monday.

"He's very talented, very fast," Fleury told the team's website after skating on the ice for the first time at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Pittsburgh. "One less guy I have to worry about playing against."

"... I think he maybe hasn’t been playing with the best teams the past few seasons and he's still racking up lots of goals, lots of points. It’ll be good to watch him to play on our side now."

Fleury certainly has seen his fair share of Kessel in an opposing jersey, as the latter has scored 11 times in 32 games against Pittsburgh during his career.

The 27-year-old Kessel was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1 along with forward Tyler Biggs, defenseman Tim Erixon and a 2016 second-round selection for forwards Nick Spaling, Kasperi Kapanen, blue-liner Scott Harrington and first- and third-round picks next year.
