Columbus Blue Jackets Re-Sign Korpisalo, Dalpe, and Kukan
The Columbus Blue Jackets Signed Three Players to Extensions Friday Afternoon, One of Which Was Quite Significant.
The first signing from the Columbus Blue Jackets was the signing of backup goaltender Joonas Korpisalo to a two-year extension. It's believed it's a one-way deal which means he will stay with the Jackets or have to clear waivers if they wish to send him back to Cleveland of the AHL. Over the course of his career with Columbus Korpisalo has posted a 23-16-5 record with 2.68 goals against average and a .915 save percentage with just one shutout. Not bad for the 23-year-old who has also posted a decent record in his time in the AHL.

The second signing has to do with center Zac Dalpe who received a new two-year two-way extension, due to it being a two-way deal he's free to go back and forth from Columbus to Cleveland whenever they need him. Dalpe, now 27 only put up three points in nine games with the Wild, and 16 points in 32 AHL games split between Iowa (Minnesota's affiliate) and Cleveland last season. 14 of those points came after the Jackets claimed him off of waivers in February of 2017.
The final signing of the day was defenseman Dean Kukan who received a new one-year two-way extension. Dean who is also 23 put up 29 points in 72 games last season for Cleveland.
Due to the clubs policy, none of the financial terms were released.
