BOSTON (AP) The Boston Bruins say goaltending prospect Malcolm Subban has a fractured larynx and will miss at least eight weeks.

Subban was hit in the throat by a puck Saturday in an American Hockey League game for Providence against Portland. The team says he had surgery in Boston on Monday and has been released from the hospital.

The 22-year-old Subban was a first-round pick in 2012. He has played one game for the Bruins.

Subban is the younger brother of Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban.
