Terrelle Pryor knew he was going to burn Desmond Trufant on 50-yard TD

Since making the switch from quarterback to wide receiver, Terrelle Pryor hasn’t had much success. In his career, he’s caught just two regular season passes. This preseason, he’s hauled in three for 107 yards and one touchdown.

That score came against the Atlanta Falcons on a beautifully thrown ball from Robert Griffin III. While it was a perfectly placed pass by RG3, Pryor’s speed helped create separation, and there was plenty of it on the play.

Before the ball was even snapped, Pryor knew he was going to burn Pro Bowl cornerback Desmond Trufant.

"I knew I had him when we called the play,'' Pryor said via Cleveland.com. "I knew I was going to beat him.''

Trufant ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash, which is plenty fast for a cornerback. Pryor, a former quarterback, showed off his wheels on the 50-yard score, proving that he may very well be faster than Trufant.

"I beat the corner and got past him and scored,'' Pryor said of the play.

Pryor has reportedly looked great in training camp this year, a pleasant change from past camps when he struggled to transition to receiver. A duo of him and and Josh Gordon could be scary, especially when you add in the precise route running from rookie Corey Coleman.

The Browns may be onto something with this group of wideouts.
