Report: Jets work out RB Bryce Brown, four others
With Chris Ivory sidelined due to injury against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the New York Jets rushed for just 47 yards -- 13 of which came from Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Running the ball was obviously an issue without Ivory in the backfield as the Jets are in need of a viable backup. They attempted to find that backup on Tuesday when they hosted former Bills and Eagles running back, Bryce Brown, for a workout.
Brown is in his fourth year in the league after spending two with the Eagles and one with the Bills. He's averaged 4.4 yards per carry over the course of his career with six rushing touchdowns. He was unable to carve out a role in a crowded Bills backfield and had issues with fumbling the ball in training camp and the preseason.
The Jets also hosted four others for workouts on Tuesday. Fullback Henry Hynoski and running back Joe Banyard were among them, as well as linebackers Jeff Luc and Quayshawn Neely.
