Packers WR Jared Abbrederis playing a painful waiting game

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jared Abbrederis, who missed most of the summer with a concussion, doesn't know if he's going to make the team. He made his first preseason appearance in the Packers' finale versus the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night and caught just one pass for six yards.

Did he do enough to secure a spot on the Packers' 53-man roster?

"I don't know," Abbrederis said, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "I'll leave that up for you guys to decide, or the coaches to decide. I was just trying to go out there, have fun and do what I could. It's a limited time. I played a lot today, but just coming back on Tuesday, it was fun. I wish I could’ve been back earlier, have a couple more games under my belt. But that's what it is."

It will probably come down to a numbers game. Randall Cobb, Davante Adams and third-round rookie Ty Montgomery are locks to make the team at receiver. Jeff Janis is in and, after a strong preseason, Miles White has a definitive edge on Abbrederis.

So, if the Packers decide to keep five wide receivers, Abbrederis is likely to be the odd man out. However, if the team carries a sixth receiver, there's still a chance for the former Wisconsin Badger to continue his NFL career as a hometown hero.
