J.J. Watt still has video of Texans fans booing him at the draft on his phone

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt has won three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, been selected to four Pro Bowls and led the league in sacks twice, but he was booed by his team’s fans when he was drafted 11th overall back in 2011.

In the latest interview from “In Depth with Graham Bensinger,” Watt admitted he still uses the video of those fans booing as motivation:

Five years later, Watt is the best player on one of the league’s best defenses and is the biggest name and most recognizable face in Houston sports. Not bad for a player he says later in the interview was considered a “safe pick” in a draft full of stars. Watch the full excerpt here:
