DeSean Jackson's home invaded; police reportedly suspect gang activity

Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson’s home was the scene of a home invasion this week, and police reportedly suspect the incident was gang-related.

Police say four people stormed Jackson's home in Tarzana, California, when five people were inside early Wednesday morning, the Associated Press reported. Jackson was in Virginia with the team.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that intruders entered the home carrying guns, but those inside were able to fight them off. One of the people in Jackson’s home was said to have been pistol-whipped and sustained minor injuries.

Investigators reportedly believe the suspects had been inside Jackson’s home before, as they knew exactly where his security cameras were stationed. The report says police have leads on some of the intruders and believe the incident was “gang-related.”

There have been rumors linking Jackson to Los Angeles gangs for quite some time, though he has never gotten into any actual trouble off the field. Around the time the Philadelphia Eagles released him after the 2013 season, reports surfaced about Jackson’s possible gang affiliation. Jackson hasn’t helped the speculation by seemingly flashing gang signs during games. Last year, Jackson mocked the Eagles over the gang reports after they cut him.
