Brandon Marshall becomes first Jets player to accomplish this since 1968
Brandon Marshall has played in just five games with the New York Jets, yet he's already breaking records and making history.
On Sunday, Marshall eclipsed 100 yards receiving for the fourth consecutive game with spectacular one-handed and shoestring catches. While the highlights are great, history lives on forever. Marshall made franchise history by becoming the first player to record 100 yards receiving in four straight games since Don Maynard did it in 1968. He's also just the third Jets player to accomplish the feat.
Marshall is undoubtedly the best wideout on the Jets' roster as he's quickly become Ryan Fitzpatrick's favorite target -- and understandably so. In five games, Marshall has caught 37 passes for 511 yards and four touchdowns. To put those numbers into perspective, he only caught 61 passes for 721 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games for the Chicago Bears last season.
Marshall is on pace for 118 catches and 1,635 yards this season, which would both be career-highs for the five-time Pro Bowler. And most incredibly, his historic season thus far is coming on a Jets offense that wasn't expected to be as explosive as it's been.
