Amazing Adrian Peterson Returns Week 15 vs Colts
Adrian Peterson is amazing once again!
Amazing is one of the most overused words to describe a football player. But it is impossible to overuse the word when describing Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. He really is one of the most amazing football players to ever lace ’em up.
At 6’2″, 215 pounds, he’s as strong as a bull, hard to bring down as he easily runs through tackles. With that strength and arm length, he also has a wicked stiff-arm. Then there’s the great vision to see gaps and feet to make defenders miss.
To top all that off, he has blazing speed so you can’t have him back once he’s out ahead. That is the total package of what any team would want their running back to be. We’ve seen his phenomenal talents on display since 2007 but that’s not what’s most amazing about him.
Peterson has the most amazing recuperative powers we have ever seen. He came within nine yards of the all-time single-season rushing record nine months after tearing his ACL. It usually takes at least a calendar year for any football player to be ready to play again.
And even then, the player, especially a running back, isn’t all the way back until the two-year mark. But Peterson came back better than ever in nine months! That was in 2012, when he was just 27 years old and now he’s 31, where recovery slows down.
So he can’t pull something like this off again, right?
Well, it looks like he has!
He was supposed to miss the rest of the season after tearing his meniscus in Week 2. Then there was talk about him making it back for the playoffs if his team can make it. Then after more speculation, he’s coming back in Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts.
He announced it Friday on Sirius XM Radio.
