Adrian Peterson: Marshawn Lynch is the NFL's second best RB

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has plenty of respect for Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, but he believes there's a clear hierarchy.

Leading up to their head-to-head matchup in the wild-card round of the NFC playoffs, Peterson specified that Lynch is the second-best running back in the NFL.

After winning the 2015 rushing title -- the third of his career -- it's safe to assume that Peterson considers himself the best running back in the league. He rushed for 1,485 yards and 11 touchdowns, while Lynch rushed for just 417 yards and three touchdowns in seven games (he underwent surgery for a sports hernia in late November).

Last year, with Peterson suspended for 15 games, Lynch gained some serious ground on his counterpart's reputation. He rushed for 1,306 yards with the defending Super Bowl champs, finishing fourth in the NFL. His injury this season, combined with Peterson's resurgence, has created some separation in the court of public opinion.

The hot hand seems to change by the year, so it's more accurate to compare their entire bodies of work. Peterson, 30, has 11,675 career rushing yards and 97 touchdowns. Lynch, who is one year younger, has rushed for 9,112 yards and 74 touchdowns.
