Most people forget that Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum was a top-10 draft pick. Seldom used in his first two seasons, he reminded them in the first half of Wednesday's season opener just how good he is, dropping 28 points in the first half and 37 in the game.

McCollum only needed 22 shots to do his damage. He went 6-for-9 from the three-point line and added six rebounds for good measure.

Maybe Portland is better than we thought.
